Our Safe Haven:
Managing the Challenges of Pedohebephilia Diagnoses

Available Sessions:
Let's Talk Challenging Diagnoses: July 23, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm EDT
Let's Talk Stigma and Clinical Care: September 1, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm EDT

Moderated by: Robin Wilson, Ph.D., ABPP & David Prescott, LICSW, ATSA-F

Pedohebephilia is a clinical term that refers to a primary or exclusive sexual attraction in adults to both prepubescent and pubescent children. It reflects research indicating that pedophilic interests (focused on prepubescent children) frequently co-occur with hebephilic interests (focused on pubescent children), suggesting a more complex pattern of sexual interest across developmental stages than either diagnosis alone describes.

Despite the significant clinical, ethical, and public-safety stakes, these constructs are often misunderstood or applied inconsistently. A clear and nuanced understanding of pedohebephilia is essential for accurate assessment, informed decision-making, effective treatment planning, and responsible supervision.

Join us for professional dialogues designed to examine these complex issues. Moderated by Robin Wilson—an internationally recognized expert in this area—and David Prescott, these sessions offer a structured yet supportive forum for professionals to explore assessment, diagnostic formulation, and treatment considerations related to sexual interests involving minors. Each session will begin with a focused topic and expand into an interactive, participant-driven discussion grounded in clinical experience and current research.

Session 1: Let’s Talk Challenging Diagnoses
July 23, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm EDT
How can clinicians make well-supported diagnoses in challenging contexts, such as when clients are reluctant or unwilling to disclose relevant information?

Session 2: Let’s Talk Stigma and Clinical Care
September 1, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm EDT
How do individuals experience, navigate, and respond to the stigma associated with a diagnosis of pedophilia and/or pedohebephilia in clinical and community settings?

These sessions are more than a discussion—they are opportunities to network, build skills, exchange ideas, and contribute to shaping best practices in this field. Join us to connect with like-minded professionals, gain actionable insights, and make a meaningful impact in managing the challenges of pedohebephilia diagnoses.

To ensure that each session is workable, we will limit the number of attendees. Registration for each session will, therefore, be on a first-come-first-served basis. We are charging a non-refundable fee of $8.00 to reserve your spot.

Your personal privacy is our highest priority. These sessions will be recorded for liability purposes only. The recordings will not be shared with attendees or distributed outside of Safer Society Foundation.

Like any group discussion, everyone will have a responsibility to keep it a safe, professional, and confidential space. We will adhere to the codes of ethics of our professions, mandatory laws, and other professional standards. The Safe Haven series is intended to be supportive; not formal supervision, consultation, or legal advice.
