Pathways: Base Camp is not a treatment program in and of itself. It is a tool designed to serve as one component of an overall treatment program for adolescents with sexual behavior problems. The stories and exercises in Base Camp are designed to complement individual, group, and family therapy.

In the complimentary Clinician's Guide, authors Timothy Kahn and Dawn Pflugradt provide a detailed overview of Base Camp and guidance for successfully completing certain assignments.
