Our Safe Haven sessions are a unique opportunity for professionals to engage in informal discussions about their work in the mental health field. At Safer Society, we place a high value on community and collaboration, creating environments where professionals can share experiences, seek support, and practice self-care. These sessions are a chance to embrace compassionate and empathetic approaches that promote healing for both those who cause harm and those who have been harmed.

Unlike our more exclusive ‘Our Safe Haven’ sessions, these gatherings focus on organic discussions about the inherent challenges and victories in this demanding field. Topics may include:

  • The emotional toll of hearing clients’ traumatic experiences
  • Boundary setting and ethical dilemmas
  • Cultural sensitivity, diversity, and inclusivity
  • Resilience skills to navigate stressors
  • Consultation and peer support in complex cases

These sessions are designed to help you broaden your perspectives, discover innovative strategies to enhance your impact, and connect with others dedicated to preventing sexual and social violence in all communities.

To ensure that each session is workable, we will limit the number of attendees. Registration for each session will, therefore, be on a first-come-first-served basis. We are charging a non-refundable fee of $8.00 to reserve your spot.

Your personal privacy is our highest priority. These sessions will be recorded for liability purposes only. The recordings will not be shared with attendees or distributed outside of Safer Society Foundation.

Like any group discussion, everyone will have a responsibility to keep it a safe, professional, and confidential space. We will adhere to the codes of ethics of our professions, mandatory laws, and other professional standards. The Safe Haven series is intended to be supportive; not formal supervision, consultation, or legal advice.
