My name is Alexis Gleason, I am a doctoral candidate in the APA-accredited Counseling Psychology PsyD program at University of St. Thomas, Minnesota. I am also a sex offense-specific treatment provider. I am reaching out to you to ask if you would consider participating in an anonymous survey and sharing the survey with supervisees and colleagues.
Eligible participants meet the following inclusion criteria:
- Currently provide sex offense-specific treatment
- Have a master’s degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, social work, or a closely related field
- Are receiving clinical supervision and have been with the same supervisor for at least six months
- Have less than 10 years of experience providing sex offense-specific treatment
Individuals who identify with marginalized racial and sexual identities are encouraged to participate.
Interested individuals will complete an anonymous survey about their experiences providing sex offense-specific treatment. Participants will be asked to disclose demographic information, information about their relationship with their clinical supervisor, and information related to vicarious trauma. The survey takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
I am working with Dr. Salina Renninger on this IRB-approved study. Participants will not be asked to disclose identifiable information such as their name, name of their workplace, or contact information.
Your participation in this survey would allow us to expand upon current literature that examines experiences of vicarious trauma among sex offense-specific treatment providers and examine the relationship between vicarious trauma and supervisory working alliance. To participate in the study, please click the link below. Your responses are completely anonymous, and you may choose to discontinue participation at any time. I also encourage you to share this email and link with anyone you believe may be interested, including colleagues and supervisees.
