The rules around telehealth and teletherapy were already confusing before the arrival of the Coronavirus and have now changed dramatically. In this combination webinar and conversation, Katherine Gotch in Oregon shares what she has learned as a professional staying abreast of public policy and as an evaluator of people convicted of sex crimes. She is joined by Shan Jumper, ATSA President and Clinical Director of the Illinois Treatment and Detention Center in Rushville, Illinois, who, among his other duties, has sought to exchange resources and ideas with others about treatment practices via teleconferencing.

Katie Gotch, LPC, CCSOT, ATSA-F
Katie Gotch is a Safer Society Collaborator. She has worked in the field of sexual abuse prevention for well over twenty years as a clinician, evaluator, trainer, educator, and in the development of evidence-informed public policy. Katie currently maintains a private practice, Integrated Clinical & Correctional Services, which provides specialized clinical and consultation services related to individuals with sexual behavior problems and other forms of abusive/violent behavior. She frequently provides training to correctional agencies, treatment providers, policy makers, and other community partners on sexual abuse specific assessment, management and treatment; static and dynamic risk; public policy; public/media engagement; and related topics. She is a certified Static-99R/STABLE & ACUTE-2007 trainer. Katie has a long history of public policy and board involvement; She has served as the Public Policy Executive Board Member for ATSA, as a Board Member for NPEIV, and as the Policy Advisor for OATSA.
Shan Jumper, Ph.D.
Shan Jumper, Ph.D., earned his counseling psychology doctorate from the University of North Dakota and is licensed in Illinois as a Clinical Psychologist, Sex Offender Treatment Provider, and Sex Offender Evaluator. With a career spanning since 1991, Dr. Jumper has extensive experience in sexual violence. He has held roles at various institutions, including the Sexually Violent Predator program in Wisconsin and the Illinois Dept. of Human Services Treatment and Detention Facility. Since 2005, he has been the Executive Clinical Director at Liberty Healthcare. Dr. Jumper is also an expert witness in private practice, a published author on sexual violence topics, and has been involved with organizations like the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse (ATSA) and the Sex Offender Civil Commitment Programs Network (SOCCPN).
