Pathways Parents Guide; Conferences

March 2, 2012

Quite a few people have called looking for the Parents’ Guide to the Pathways workbook. We have bad news and good news for you. The bad news is that the Parents’ Guide is out of print and is no longer available. The good news is that we’ve replaced it with another title from Tim Kahn that’s full of updated information and is designed for use in all outpatient and residential programs. Healthy Families includes all the information previously in the Parents’ Guide, updated to reflect new understanding of youth with sexual behavior problems, and can be used by parents whether or not their child is working in Pathways  or Roadmaps to Recovery. Parents of youth using either the fourth edition of Pathways or the second edition of Roadmaps to Recovery can find additional information about these workbooks in the appendices. More detailed information about Healthy Families is available here; the book can be purchased here.

Safer Society maintains a list of conferences that may be of interest to those working in the field of sexual abuse prevention or treatment, and also conferences that may be of interest to survivors and family members. It’s available on our calendar page. During the past couple of weeks a number of conferences have been added, and we plan to continually add to the list as we become aware of other conferences. If you’re looking for educational opportunities or more information about a particular topic, browse through the calendar to see what’s coming up. Clicking on the title will bring up a box with additional information about the conference and contact information. If you have an upcoming conference you’d like to have us include, send an e-mail to info@safersociety.org. Safer Society provides this list as a service and is not responsible for the content of any conference or workshop listed. The calendar also lists workshops or other events our authors may be presenting, so take a look at those as well.
