Jeffrey Sandler, a leading researcher in the field of sexual offending for nearly two decades, has conducted several important and influential studies that continue to help shape evidence-informed policy and practice. His co-authored study with Naomi Freeman and Kelly Socia, “Does a Watched Pot Boil? A Time-Series Analysis of New York State’s Sex Offender Registration and Notification Law,” highlighted the overall need for approaches rooted in empirical evidence. More recently, his examination with Dr. Freeman on “The Impact of Aging on Sexual Recidivism Risk” has opened promising new avenues for effective practice and further inquiry.

While these studies are just two examples of Dr. Sandler’s efforts, this webinar focuses on his newest research findings regarding the factors that predict which above-average risk individuals would likely succeed in the community on a supervision and treatment order. Dr. Sandler shares these new, practice-orientated findings that, as is often the case with landmark research, deliver real-world impact and suggest new directions for assessment, treatment, and community supervision.
