David Prescott has accepted an appointment as Editor of Safer Society Press

In this time of uncertainty and bad news, we are pleased to be able to deliver an exciting update about Safer Society Press.

Many of you know David personally and professionally, but for those of you who do not, here is a brief summary of his illustrious career as a writer, trainer, and clinician. David has authored numerous books and chapters in the areas of assessing and treating sexual violence and trauma. More than half of those works were published by Safer Society. David is a current Fellow and past president of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers. He is also the 2014 recipient of that organization’s Distinguished Contribution Award, one of only a handful of recipients. He is a Senior Associate and Certified Trainer for the International Center for Clinical Excellence and a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers. He has lectured around the world and has served on the editorial boards of a number of journals. Most recently, he was the Clinical Services Development Director for the Becket Family of Services, USA.

Author David Prescott displays Becoming Who I Want to Be, the good lives workbook for adolescent boys. He graciously agreed to have his photo taken as he was heading to set up for his morning presentation at the NYSATSA-Alliance Joint Conference.

To begin the transition into his editorial position at Safer Society, David is planning a series of webinars to help bring our field together as we handle the social distancing that makes the work of helping professionals even more of a challenge.

Stay tuned for the announcement about David’s first webinar with Safer Society!
