Announcing CalATSA!

News out of California would undoubtedly make our founder smile. Before she officially started Safer Society Foundation, Fay Honey Knopp was among those instrumental in the establishment of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA). She would be happy that California now has an ATSA chapter, CalATSA.

In a statement from the new group,

“CalATSA’s mission is to promote best practices and evidence-based approaches in the supervision, assessment, and treatment of individuals who have committed a sexual offense or are at risk of committing a sexual offense. Members can participate in upcoming local trainings and conferences, consultation with content experts, in addition to involvement in a broader referral network and overall participation in the local community of professionals focused on reducing sexual aggression.

This mission of CalATSA aligns closely with that of Safer Society, which seeks to harness the power of knowledge, compassion, and innovation to create a world free from sexual and social violence. Both organizations emphasize the importance of evidence-based practices and community involvement in reducing sexual aggression and violence.

For more information about CalATSA, please send an email. They are waiving membership dues for an introductory period.

We wish them good sailing as they begin their journey.
