Human trafficking, particularly sex trafficking, is a grave human rights violation that has garnered significant media attention in recent years. Addressing sex trafficking requires a comprehensive, victim-centered approach involving professionals across different fields who work to protect victims, prosecute those who sexually traffic others, and address root causes. However, these professionals face significant challenges due to the limited research and resources available to them.
Has your work been affected by sex trafficking? Do you work with individuals who have been trafficked or those who have engaged in trafficking? Or would you simply like to deepen your understanding of these issues?
Join us for these Our Safe Haven sessions, where we delve into the stresses and solutions of navigating such challenging situations. These sessions provide a secure and supportive environment for professionals to engage in meaningful dialogue, share experiences, and collectively work toward prevention, protection, and rehabilitation for those affected by human trafficking. Our hosts, Katie and David, are seasoned professionals in the field who empathize with the hurdles you face and are here to help guide you through.
In each session, we may explore topics such as:
- How human trafficking has emerged in public dialogue and debate in recent years.
- Available resources for assessment and treatment of those affected.
- What we do and don’t know about those who sexually traffic others.
- Best practices for aiding and supporting individuals affected by human trafficking.
To ensure that each session is workable, we will limit the number of attendees. Registration for each session will, therefore, be on a first-come-first-served basis. We are charging a non-refundable fee of $8.00 to reserve your spot.
Your personal privacy is our highest priority. These sessions will be recorded for liability purposes only. The recordings will not be shared with attendees or distributed outside of Safer Society Foundation.
Like any group discussion, everyone will have a responsibility to keep it a safe, professional, and confidential space. We will adhere to the codes of ethics of our professions, mandatory laws, and other professional standards. The Safe Haven series is intended to be supportive; not formal supervision, consultation, or legal advice.
