Becky Palmer, MS is currently in practice as a private consultant and trainer. Formerly the Sr. VP of Clinical at Alternative Behavior Treatment Centers. Ms. Palmer did her post-graduate training in marriage and family therapy at the Institute for Juvenile Research (the University of Illinois) where she had been adjunct faculty in the Family Systems Program. Ms. Palmer previously was an adjunct faculty at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, where she taught Psychotherapy of the Sex Offender and Abusive Family Systems. Ms. Palmer has presented trainings and workshops, both regionally, nationally, and internationally, on marital therapy with survivors of sexual abuse, parenting sexually abused and reactive children, working with abusive family systems, sex offender treatment and evaluation, ethics, family reintegration, and compassion fatigue. Ms. Palmer has also consulted with religious organizations when there has been abuse by clergy or within the church community. Becky’s trainings have been provided to an array of groups and individuals in the professional service field, such as court personnel, probation/parole officers, attorneys, judges, foster parents, childcare workers, and other therapists. Ms. Palmer has also made several media appearances in Chicago to help educate the public about sexual abuse.
