Safer Society Foundation furthers its mission through the work of two divisions:

• Safer Society Press, which publishes books, videos, and guidebooks for individuals who have perpetrated sexual and social violence, individuals who have survived sexual and social violence, and the mental health professionals who work with these individuals, as well as professionals in all fields of work involved with preventing sexual and social violence.
• The Continuing Education Center, which provides online trainings, free webinars, and other educational opportunities about current trends in psychology, education, criminology, psychotherapy, and related fields for all professionals whose work involves ending violence and abuse and building healthier lives and safer communities.

We have a dedicated team that plays a crucial role in furthering Safer Society's mission.

The Board is responsible for overseeing and approving all major:

• financial aspects of operating the organization, including the annual budget and quarterly financial reports.
• Activities and structural changes that affect the financial wellbeing of the organization.

We currently have five dedicated board members who have volunteered to devote eight to ten hours a year to playing a crucial role in powering Safer Society's success.

• Quarterly Board meetings
  • The Board meets four times a year to review the organization’s current financial status and learn from the executive director and director of operations about the current activities of the Press and the CEC. The meetings are held in the Brandon office in the summer and online via zoom during other parts of the year. Meetings vary in length between one and a half and two hours.

• Board Committees
  • There are currently two committees:
    • The finance committee: Reviews all financial reports, consults with the Executive Director and Director of Operations on financial issues, and reports to the rest of the Board at Board meetings on the Foundation’s current financial status.
    • The application committee: Meets twice a year to review applications and select the winners for the Fay Honey Knopp Learning Initiative, providing free access to Continuing Education Center trainings for qualified mental health professionals in the field of sexual and social violence prevention.
